THE DEVIL & ELIJAH MUHAMMAD

by Yusef Salaam

October 25 – November 6, 2011

Tues. thru Sat. 7:30 p.m. – Sun. 2:30 p.m.

This powerful drama captures a portion of this great Muslim leader’s life and legacy.  “The Devil and Elijah Muhammad” delves into the makings of Elijah Muhammad’s ideologies, thought processes, drive and commitment to his belief system, as well as his love and respect for the Black race.  See why he was loved by many, hated by many, and, criticized and misunderstood by many. This play is full of suspense, intrigue, and, a very unexpected turn of events. A must see!.

ARYÉ

by Louise Mike

February 28 – March 11, 2012

Tues. thru Sat. 7:30 p.m. – Sun. 2:30 p.m.

An historical drama, with original music and songs, traces the roots of a young Black woman’s ancestry, focusing on three generations…from the coasts of Africa, to the plantation days in this country, up to the present day. Despite generational differences, these three strong Black women who lived in very different time periods, share a common bond, tightly linking these women from generation to generation…out weighing any perceived differences. A drama sure to strengthen, enlighten, motivate, educate and inspire. A play you don’t want to miss!

THIS WAY FORWARD

by Gertrude Jeannette

May 22 – June 3, 2012

Tues. thru Sat. 7:30 p.m. – Sun. 2:30 p.m.

A beautifully written story that takes place on a large farm owned by this very proud and very independent close knit Black family. While life is good for this family, one major issue threatens to divide and dismantle this family’s very existence.  “This Way Forward” is sure to keep you on the edge of your seats.  Full of drama, wit, laughs, surprises, twists, and turns… with a very powerful message for young and old…which prevails to this very today. A Play you will want to see again and again !!!
